Find Cancer Early is a community-based symptom awareness campaign that focuses on the five most common cancers in Western Australia – prostate, breast, skin, bowel and lung cancer.
The Find Cancer Early campaign, coordinated by Cancer Council WA and sponsored by the Government of Western Australia Department of Health, aims to increase awareness of the early symptoms of the five most common cancers in people aged over 40 years living in regional WA.
The campaign encourages people to Find Cancer Early by recognising potential symptoms and telling their doctor, clinic nurse or Aboriginal health worker without delay. As well as increasing symptom awareness and promoting early diagnosis, the campaign aims to break down some of the barriers and myths to seeking help.
The earlier cancer is found, the greater the chance of successful treatment.
If you live in regional WA and would like to order campaign materials (DVDs, postcards, posters or flyers) to promote the Find Cancer Early message in your community, please contact us.
