Listen to our Regional Education Manager, Cassandra Clayforth chat to Triple M’s Rural Focus host Tom Moir, about the latest Find Cancer Early campaign for West Australians.
The campaign that launched late January features personal testimonies talking about common symptoms of cancer, and encouraging regional people over 40 years of age to Find Cancer Early by visiting a doctor, clinic nurse or Aboriginal health worker if they have an unusual symptom.
The campaign highlights the importance of early cancer detection as research shows people in regional Western Australia are more likely to die within five years of a cancer diagnosis than people in Perth, with a delay in diagnosis contributing to that.
